IRONMĀORI coming to Taupō

The Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board is delighted to confirm it has secured the iconic IRONMĀORI event to be held in Taupō next year.

The new event will be called IRONMĀORI TAUPŌ-NUI-A-TIA and will take place on 18 March 2017.

Chief Executive Topia Rameka says the Trust Board is proud to be the main sponsor and is committed to making the event a success.

“IRONMĀORI TAUPŌ-NUI-A-TIA will be an exciting and fun event that is open to everyone,” he says.

“For Ngāti Tūwharetoa, this kaupapa is really important – it’s about supporting and encouraging healthy lifestyles for the whole whānau and community.

“We will be encouraging as many locals as possible to enter the event, and to give our Tūwharetoa whānau a bit of extra motivation we’ll be offering them subsidised entry fees.”

IRONMĀORI Founder Heather Skipworth says IRONMĀORI is continuing to grow in popularity, and will be held in five locations around New Zealand in 2017.
